Anyone who has asked for a website quote has had answers ranging from eight hundred euro to fifteen thousand. It is not that someone is lying: the question “what does a website cost” is a lot like “what does a house cost”. It depends on how many rooms, in which city, and whether you want it furnished.
1. How much content already exists
This is the line that moves the quote most, and almost nobody accounts for it. If you already have approved copy, product photography and a current price list, we are building. If you do not, it has to be written and shot first — and that is a project inside the project.
2. How much it has to do beyond being read
A site that presents the company and collects enquiries is one thing. One that takes bookings, calculates shipping, tracks stock and talks to your accounting system is another: it is not a bigger website, it is software with a facade.
3. How many people have to sign off
An owner who decides alone closes a design in two days. Three partners with different opinions take three weeks, and somebody pays for those weeks. It is not a flaw in the company, it is a variable: budget for it rather than discovering it halfway.
An honest quote is not the lowest one: it is the one that tells you what happens to the price if you change your mind halfway.
That is why we do not publish a price list. After an hour on a call we know where you sit on these three variables, and the quote you get is itemised line by line with the delivery date inside it. It does not move after that unless you move the scope.
